چکیده
Surra is of great concern to countries in the world such as Iran, which have a considerable camel population. The present study was aimed at determining prevalence Trypanosoma evansi camels Iran. A total 167 blood samples from farmed were examined for presence T. infection using parasitological and molecular methods. Blood smear examination revealed 10 (6%) positive samples, while PCR method 14 (8.4%) found samples. Age, sex, region not determined risk factors this study. phylogenetic tree inferred VSG gene sequences clearly separated into two clades, B, reflects intrasequence heterogeneity among Iranian isolates. showed that strains are members brucei clade.

Thirty-two naturally infested dromedaries were included in these studies; within pairs, dromedaries were randomly allocated to a treated or a control group based on body weight. Treated animals received a single subcutaneous injection of ivermectin 1.0% w/v solution at adose of 200 \¡.g/kg. Animals were slaughtered 14 to 29 days after treatment and the parasites remaining were recovered for ide...

Trypanosomosis in camel caused by Trypanosoma evansi is still a serious problem in camel husbandry causes considerable economic losses in many camel-rearing regions of the world. In the present study 193 camels clinically suspected for surra were examined parasitologically by Giemsa stained blood smear (GSBS) and haematocrit centrifugation technique, serologically for detection of anti-trypanos...
متن کاملMolecular Identification of Hemoprotozoan Parasites in Camels (Camelus dromedarius) of Iran
BACKGROUND Although camels represent a valuable source of food, wool and hide in many countries, in-depth information about their vector-borne pathogens is scarce compared to other animals. The aim of the current study was to characterize vector-borne protozoa in the blood of dromedaries from Iran by molecular tools. METHODS From June to July 2014, 200 peripheral blood samples were collected ...

introduction camels belong to the family of camelidae, suborder of tylopoda, order of artiodactyla and class of mammalians. the family camelidae has two old world species, double-humped camel (camelus bactrianus) and single-humped camel (camelus dromedaries) and four new world (tribe lamini) species, guanaco (lama guanicoe), llama (lama glama), alpaca (lama pacos) and vicuna (lama vicugna or vi...

The present study aimed to estimate the molecular prevalence of Theileria annulata and Trypanosoma evansi infection in cattle in Northern Tunisia. A total number of 96 cattle from five farms were evaluated. T. annulata and T. evansi prevalences were 61% [56/66] and 10% [7/13], respectively, at a confidence interval (CI) of 95%, while co-infection was present in 6% [4/8] of the tested animals at...
